• Homework

The students MUST practice the skills taught during our speech and language sessions in order to facilitate progress and carryover of those skills to all communicative settings.

Both speech improvement students and classified students will be given a Speech and language notebook or folder. After each speech and language session, work completed during our sessions will be put in this notebook or folder. Your child will either be given homework or will be asked to review what we have done during our session with a parent/ guardian at home.

Parents/Guardians are an important part of the therapy process. Take some time to ask your child what he or she did during their speech and language therapy session. Also, ask your child to show you their speech and language notebook, so you can see what we have been working on.

Children who are working on individual speech sounds (articulation goals) must practice their sound every day for at least 10 minutes to ensure maintenance and carry over of their skills!!
